Simon Ellis has been writing and directing short films for 20 years, working mainly in fiction. Self taught, he also works in documentary, animation, experimental, or a combination of the three.
Perhaps his most defining characteristic is a continued commitment to the short form, an outlet for "all kinds of creative discharge". With a couple of short exceptions, this programme focuses on fiction, including the multi-award winning SOFT and subsequent approaches to an ongoing theme of masculinity.
