After enduring three years of the Zero-COVID policy, the Chinese government suddenly relaxed its pandemic control measures in early 2023. The lives of many elderly individuals faded away before the onset of spring. Following the careful handling of the funeral arrangements for both parents, a young man decided to purchase fireworks for the imminent Spring Festival, despite the prohibition on igniting fireworks and firecrackers.
Wang Zhiyi is a London Film School-trained filmmaker. The pursuit of the unity of form and content is one of the core purposes of creating his film, by exploring the creative space of being both the director and the cinematographer.
