Father and son are on their way to the airport to pick up a gift sent from abroad by the boy's godfather. Amid bureaucratic hurdles, with little or no hope for real political and social changes in the country, they find comfort and strength in their shared optimism for the future.
A Master of Fine Arts graduate from Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul, he is a photographer, cinematographer, tutor, and curator of the short film program at DokuFest in Prizren, Kosovo for almost 20 years. His directorial debut "In Between" premiered at the Berlinale in 2019. His shorts "Displaced" (2021) and "On the Way" (2024) both premiered in Official Competition at Cannes. "Displaced" won Best Short Film at TIFF Toronto, Best Nonfiction at Sundance, and was nominated for a European Film Academy Award in 2021.
