Village women from Kosova share their life stories and abandoned dreams. Behind thick walls, silence and years of longing for school, the voices of these mothers, grandmothers and workers weave an intimate portrait of overlooked realities.
Director
Blerta Haziraj, born in 1994, is a dedicated researcher and a filmmaker. Her artistic endeavors primarily revolve around the archives of feminist movements in Kosovo, which she creatively repurposes to experiment with various mediums such as film, fanzines, posters, and other forms of artistic production. She has authored two short films, 'How I Failed Documenting Male Gaze' (2021) and 'Your Eyes and Hands Must be Seen Everywhere' (2022), both of which shed light on the lives of women in Kosovo's rural regions. In addition to her filmography, Blerta has also created the fanzine ATO. This publication challenges and critiques the representation of female characters in Albanian drama. As a co-founder of Pykë-Presje, a research collective based in Prizren, Blerta is actively involved in producing experimental publications. The collective also organizes exhibitions, workshops, and discursive programs that delve into the local history of various movements.
