‘In Search of Oil and Sand’ is a documentary that shows never before seen footage from a film made by members of the Egyptian royal family, just weeks before the coup d’etat of 1952 saw them overthrown from power. It is a glimpse into the final days of the royal court as portrayed by Mahmoud Sabit, a relative of King Farouk and the gatekeeper of this lost world as he investigates and unveils the story behind the film.
