"Mimaroğlu: The Robinson of Manhattan Island" është një histori e dy shpirtrave të lirë: kompozitorit legjendar të muzikës elektronike Ilhan Mimaroğlu dhe gruas së tij drithëruese Güngör e cila migroi në SHBA nga Turqia në fillim të viteve 1960. Duke përdorur arkivat personale të çiftit, dokumentari kap karrierën e Ilhanit si një artist i mprehtë, dhe fuqinë e marrëdhënies së tyre jetësore e cila filloi në mes të një drame familjare. Në një strukturë shumë-shtresore, filmi flet për imigrimin, muzikën, dashurinë dhe zhgënjimin.
Director
Serdar Kökçeoğlu (1975) has studied directing at Dokuz Eylül University. He is a member of the SIYAD, the society of cinematographers, and writes articles for film magazines. In recent years, he has studied short film and lectured on film sound and scriptwriting. He has also founded Ses Kitab, an online music label. His interest in sound is reflected in his short film Listening Through Istanbul (2018).
