Offside is the story of two young, illegal African immigrants who left their country to come to Turkey aspiring to be successful football players. The paths of Taju and Rachid cross in İstanbul. While Taju dreams of becoming a player in a 3rd League football team, he spends his days working to make a living in a small barber shop in Kumkapı. Rachid tries to find ways to go to Europe, in order to join his English girlfriend Diane whom he has met on the internet. Their dreams are shattered when their teammate Okute (Festus Okey) is killed under police custody…

Director

She worked as a script writer and researcher in various documentaries on various cultures made both in Turkey and abroad. She finished Boğazici University Department of English Language and Literature; then she received her M.A. at the Documentary Production Department in Northern Media School in Sheffield, UK.
